Many people love the beautiful smiles created by traditional braces but don't like the appearance of the braces themselves. Invisalign® is a near-invisible teeth-straightening method that quickly and discreetly moves your teeth into position using clear plastic aligners. Dominic Tam, DMD, leads a team experienced in providing Invisalign treatment at South Valley Dentistry in Chandler, Arizona. Start your journey to straighter teeth. Invisalign is a teeth-straightening method that uses clear plastic aligners to apply gentle pressure to your teeth, moving them into a more aesthetic position. The aligners sit over your natural teeth and are almost impossible to see.
Invisalign uses a proprietary plastic blend to create custom trays tailored to your mouth, using molds taken from your teeth. The aligners themselves are made in Invisalign's own labs by specialist technicians.
Invisalign isn't suitable for everyone, so South Valley Dentistry performs a full assessment to see whether Invisalign will work for you.
South Valley Dentistry uses advanced 3-D computer graphics technology to take digitals scan of your mouth. From this scan, your provider creates treatment instructions to take you from your current teeth alignment to beautifully straight teeth.
The Invisalign lab technicians turn these instructions into a series of clear aligners. You wear each aligner for 7-10 days, for at least 22 hours a day, removing them only when you eat, brush, or floss.
Each aligner tray moves your teeth fractionally more than the last. Once your teeth are in their final position, you receive a retainer that you must wear every night to prevent them from moving back.
The most obvious benefit of Invisalign is how discreet it is — the aligners are virtually imperceptible. But there are other reasons why people choose Invisalign over traditional braces:
With traditional braces, it's easy for food to catch in the wires or for a bracket to crack if you bite down on something hard. Invisalign aligners are removable — you can eat whatever you choose without worry and maintain good dental hygiene through unimpeded flossing and brushing.
Traditional braces tend to rub on the cheeks and gums, causing sores. Invisalign is less abrasive and if the edges of the aligner should catch on your cheek, you can gently file them down into a softer shape.
The advanced Invisalign technology allows you to see what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment, helping you stay motivated.
